Who is Jesus to me?

Jesus is my Lord and Savior. He is the Son of God, the God that makes all things, and controls all things. Jesus was put in this world as flesh by God to live the life we had to live, he lived the perfect life and never sinned not once. Although he was perfect he was persecuted by the world. He was mocked, beaten, crucified, and nailed to a cross to die a painful death for doing absolutely nothing wrong.

God made a perfect world, free from sin and darkness where we lived in perfect harmony with Him. Because of Adam’s original sin, humans have been forever disconnected from God. Throughout God’s story in scripture, we see that was the plan all along. Because nobody can live up to the law and we all fall short of God’s glory, we are all in need of a savior. Since I am a sinner, I needed a savior and God realized this. He loved me, and all mankind, so much that he gave his one and only son to die for my sins on the cross. This sacrifice paid the debt of sin for all mankind and allowed us to be connected to God once again through the Holy Spirit. He gave His perfect son as a sacrifice for us all.

The day Jesus died he wiped away the sins of the world’s past, present, and future. When I understood this as true I had to learn more about what this meant for me.

When I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior my life drastically changed. I was born again, a new creation, and all of my past sins were forgiven. The desires of the world were no longer my desires, the money, fame, fortune, possessions, just did not matter. It has been a process trying to learn to think and act like Jesus does, as I still have worldly desires but each morning I focus on the power of the Holy Spirit to kill those evil desires. Although my walk has not always been easy, in fact life with Christ is not easier at all. However I realize that my reward is in Heaven and not on earth. One day I will be with God in heaven and until then it’s my mission to proclaim His great name to everyone on earth.

If you do not know Jesus as your personal savior I encourage you to ask Him into your heart. Please watch the video below to learn more about who Jesus is and what that means for you.
